Boom Shaka-Laka!!

Awww, yeah...

Addiction - noun: The state of being enslaved to a habit or practice or to something that is psychologically or physically habit-forming, as narcotics, to such an extent that its cessation causes severe trauma.

My favorite Xbox Live Arcade game to date is one of the first releases for Live Arcade, Geometry Wars Evolved. This game is a simple upgrade of Asteroids, with a bunch of firework explosions littering the screen and shit flying everywhere. It starts out slow but then amps up the amount of enemies to make sure your high score will never be touched again. Geometry wars, for me, follows the definition above. This is an amazingly simplistic game, but the reason it works is because it is fun, challenging, and can be picked up for 15 minutes or 2 hours. A great little app that I still go back to every week to get my nostalgic gaming on. I highly recommend downloading Geometry Wars if you have a 360 and haven't played it yet. Anyways, the point of this post is that the makers of Geometry Wars Evolved are coming out with their next Xbox Live Arcade game in a few months. Boom Boom Rocket is another simple designed game. Shooting fireworks into the sky in this music game has you pushing the four face buttons on the controller when said color reaches its explosion hight. Simplistic? Yes. Addictive. Guaranteed. Comprised of a list of around ten techno'd out classical songs, Boom Boom Rocket will be on my Xbox HD as soon as it is released.
