MLB 2K7 Review

Baseball season is upon us and so is 2K Game’s MLB 2K7. I have never been a fan of baseball games given the fact that they bore me and I have always sucked at them. I know, it’s hard to believe I cannot be good at EVERY game. But MLB 2K7 actually kept my attention for over nine innings. Hitting and pitching are fun, but fielding and baserunning still need some attention. Giving the command to climb the wall in order to rob a homerun or throwing to/through cutoff men have some issues. Also sometimes fielders decide on some odd choices to barehand a ball or attempt plays that they simply cannot make. This results in extra bases for your opponent and an increase in anger. On the offensive side, players sometimes hiccup around the bag and unexpected outs will occur. The graphics in MLB 2K7 are great, minus the crowds. Stadiums looks fantastic as do most player models, but there are some who look nothing like their real life counterparts. 2K Games has implemented something called “Signature Style” meaning that you will see at the plate nuances such as Nomar checking his batting gloves, as well as fielding animations exclusive to individual players. Most baseball fans will enjoy MLB 2K7 but hopefully we will get an even finer tuned release next year.
