Half Life 2: Orange Box Announced

Valve has announced the contents of their new Half Life 2: Orange Box which will be out at the end of the year. This might sound crazy but stick with me here. For the price of a regular game ($60) players will get the original Half Life 2, HL2: Episode 1, the brand new HL2: Episode 2, Portal, and Team Fortress 2.

The HL2 Episodes star Alyx Vance who was our hero Gordon Freeman's sidekick from Half Life 2. We get to play and see her side of the story in these episodes with a third planned to come. I have been following Portal for a while now and it is going to rock. Portal is a puzzle game involving your portal gun which allows for some seriously mind-bending adventures through walls, floors, ceilings, etc. Finally there is Team Fortress 2 (the original Team Fortress was built on the Half Life 1 engine) which is a strictly online class-based multiplayer shooter featuring 9 different classes to choose from.

This may be the ultimate package for gamers this winter with a variety of different game types to please just about everyone. Check out the screenshots of HL2: Episode 2, Portal, and Team Fortress respectively.
